The first week of school has proved eventful. Emerald was riding a scooter, hit a crack in the sidewalk, and went tumblin' down. She cracked a small bone in her elbow region. Here are a couple of pictures of her cast.

Of course, she choose black, her favorite color. With the help of a silver sharpie, her classmates have done a good job signing it.

Emerald loves playing with her little brother. Here is a short clip of Em teachng David how to pretend to be a bear.

Haircuts and the First Day of School

Emerald got her haircut! Here she is sporting her new "rocker girl" look. And yes, Mom, it's supposed to be messy.

And here were are on the first day of our last year in elementary school. Where did our little girl go?

It was sunny out which is why she's squinting a little bit. These were all taken at the back of her school where all the kids congregated before being led inside by their teachers.

Here is David waiting for big sister to go inside. He enjoys the walks to the school. I'm not sure what he was looking at here, but it must have been something interesting!

Here is Emerald at the Ignite Chicago concert. It was a Mommy/Daughter outing. Even though I was disappointed to miss the Newsboys, Emerald got to see Superchick which made her whole summer.
